We are finding elevated value spreads across all sectors in Europe. By value spreads, I mean the value gap between the most expensive and cheapest stocks within a sector. Most sectors are at all time wide gaps on that measure. We are finding the greatest opportunities in the UK, France, Netherlands and Italy, where we are not having to take on additional risks of leverage.

It is difficult to find any sector that is resilient to economic, political and regulatory shocks. Having said that, I think there are particularly interesting opportunities in European large-cap pharma, which has a fair amount of resiliency to those three concerns.

Interesting article. Are there any particular sectors that you think are particularly interesting and that are more resilient to regulatory and further econo-political shocks? Also, are you finding value across Europe or you think that a particular geography dominates?
